About the author…

Julie Spencer is an author, marketing and communications executive, and longtime advocate whose career has spanned more than three decades in senior-level marketing and communications roles. She has worked with leading brands and more than 50 celebrities, helping shape campaigns, launches, public relations initiatives, and stories designed to connect with audiences.

Her professional life has taken her from the worlds of entertainment and consumer brands to the collectible, fitness, and pet industries, where she has become a passionate advocate for animal wellness and rescue. Her work and advocacy have earned recognition from the California State Legislature, and she was named one of The Orange County Register’s 100 Most Influential People in OC.

Raised internationally as the daughter of a CIA officer and a free-spirited mother, Julie brings a global perspective, natural curiosity, and keen eye for the absurd to her writing. Humor has always been her coping mechanism, especially during life’s darkest moments. She believes that sometimes finding something to laugh about is what gives us the strength to keep moving forward. That perspective, along with a career spent understanding how stories connect people, ultimately led her to write her memoir.

Julie lives in Southern California with her husband and their rescue dog, Winston. She is the author of Every Family Has a Kenny© and is available for media interviews, speaking engagements, podcasts, and literary events.
